The 10th Anniversary Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation final promises to be a landmark event, showcasing the innovations of 16 African entrepreneurs who have dedicated themselves to honing their engineering solutions over the past eight months.
The 10th Anniversary Africa Prize final will take place on Thursday 13 June at Movenpick Residences Nairobi, Kenya, from 4:30 EAT. Everyone is welcome to join the event, in particular other innovators, industry partners, investors and other stakeholders.
Over the last eight months, the Royal Academy of Engineering has provided 16 talented entrepreneurs from across Africa with tailored training, mentoring, and support to turn their engineering innovations into scalable businesses that can transform the continent.
At the final event, the innovators will pitch their work to a panel of judges for the chance to become the winner of the 2024 Africa Prize and receive £50,000. Three finalists will be awarded £15,000 each, and the audience will select a One-to-Watch winner of £5,000 for the most impactful shortlist pitch. The event will also include an exhibition featuring the 2024 Africa Prize shortlist and their innovations.

Alongside this year’s Africa Prize shortlist, the event will also bring together 80 talented alumni who have participated in the programme over the last ten years for a three-day reunion in Nairobi. They will take part in tailored training sessions, activities, and an investor community event facilitating valuable networking with the Nairobi ecosystem.
Under the theme of “Powering Africa’s Future: Looking ahead to the next 10 Years of Innovation”, the event will not only celebrate past achievements but also set the stage for the next decade of progress, as well as provide a platform for networking and collaboration within Kenya’s vibrant start-up ecosystem.
In addition to the final in Nairobi, to celebrate 10 years of the Africa Prize, the Royal Academy of Engineering has invested over £1million in alumni of the programme this year through grants, prizes and accelerator programme awards.
Join us in celebrating a decade of engineering excellence across Africa.
